Wrinkle reducers are becoming more popular than ever. Women and men alike are trying to reduce the wrinkles found on their face. But what has caused this concern amongst the public about the appearance of wrinkles? It could be vanity or it could be a much deeper, more psychological reason.

As with many of the self improvement products available today, wrinkle reducer manufacturers seem to be appearing over night, promising the next miracle solution. First it was products that fought baldness or removed gray hair, then miracle weight loss pills took center stage. Now wrinkle creams have the spot light and it doesn't appear that they are looking back. As with all of these products, vanity plays a crucial role in consumer behavior.

Everyone wants to look thinner, or maintain the appearance of their youth. Consumers spend their spare time focused on working out and trying their best to keep up with the latest "stay young" trend. On the surface it seems that our society is extremely vein, seeking out solutions to inevitable realities of life. However, psychologists maintain that there is much more to it than simply wishing to look young.

The desire to look younger is not only a shallow aspiration, but a much more deeply rooted yearning to relive their youth as they wished it could be. Many American children find them self victim of "clicks" and other popularity pitfalls during their childhood. Eventually they get out of school and continue on to their professional lives. Many unpopular kids now find themselves successful and many popular or attractive children now find their looks fading. Whether they are looking to regain the beauty of days gone by or looking to improve themselves in an effort to "prove" to their peers that they have "made it," all are leaning towards wrinkle reducers to pave the way.

Many people consider high school the best days of their lives. Memories of days with out responsibility and times when everything was fine as long as you ran with the right crowd are firmly entrenched in all of us. Certainly they vary from person to person, and each of us had different roles back in the good old days, but all of us remember one aspect or another of our past with nostalgia.

It is this feeling of nostalgia, specialists say, that causes so many consumers to seek out wrinkle reducers subconsciously. We may not even be aware of why looking younger is more important. People feel that they need to look their best to find a partner, or to look great for their job, but what is it that defines what looking great is? Subconsciously, our feelings about our childhood dictate this definition. If you were not considered attractive as a teenager and blossomed late, you want to look your best to show that you have arrived. And if you were thought of as beautiful in high school, but the years have taken their toll, you are looking to regain that feeling of acceptance.

So as there are more and more advancements in the anti wrinkle industry, more and more consumers are coming out of the wood work to use these wrinkle reducers. While baldness was considered predominantly a male issue, wrinkles effect both sexes. And while it may appear that these consumers are driven by vanity, the truth is that it is much deeper than that. Wrinkle reducers are a modern day, realistic version of a time machine. Consumers want their face to match the age they feel inside, which is never a reflection of the number of wrinkles they may have. As long as wrinkle reducers continue to improve, consumers will continue to buy, each hoping to resurrect feeling from days gone by.
