In a rather surprising new story, it seems that wrinkle creams are gaining popularity amongst youngsters. These teenagers, not even old enough to vote and certainly not old enough to have any sort of wrinkles have begun the use of wrinkle creams. These teenagers apparently find it "cool" to use these wrinkle creams, and each report others as a favorite. Many parents have reported stories, after confronting their children about the use of wrinkle creams, that "you are not cool unless, you use wrinkle cream."
So the issue has little to do with the creams being effective, and more to do with these teenagers acting older. For whatever reason these teenagers find the use of wrinkle creams mature and adult like. By acting like mature adults, these teenagers feel empowered. It is that empowerment that is the source of this bizarre new trend.
An interesting twist on this story is that many of the parents of these children are actually now users of wrinkle cream that were not before. Generally you would assume that the teenagers would have begun this trend by getting wrinkle creams at home or at least the behavior pattern from home. But strangely enough this is not the case. The parents of these kids have actually started using the creams as a bi-product of their children's behavior.
"I saw my daughter using this wrinkle cream so I thought I might as well try it," said one parent. Surprised by the results the parent has continued the use and has now become involved in her daughters wrinkle cream purchases. By supervising their behavior, parents are able to ensure the products that their children are using are not harmful and essentially just moisturizers.
Skin care specialists do not believe that the use of wrinkle creams by teenagers is harmful, but they also do not feel it is necessary. It does not add or subtract anything from the future of their skin. It is simply immature behavior that teenagers are using to separate themselves from other children, trying to act mature. Teenagers do all sorts of bizarre behavior in an effort to fit in or to be cool. This trend is no different than a million others, except that it is not harmful. For that, parents are relieved and willing to tolerate that fact that you are not cool, unless you use wrinkle cream.
