Wrinkle Cream - Too Many Or Too Few Choices?

In a time when wrinkle creams and wrinkle cream companies seem to be popping up all over the place, consumers are inundated with large amounts of choices to treat their wrinkles.  Even if a consumer did focus in on one brand that seemed to provide a quality product, often times there are so many different products to choose from, that it would take an expert to make the right choices for their particular situation.  The product lines are counting on consumers buying more products than they need, or tricking them into purchasing two products when one quality product would certainly provide them the results that they desire.  The author examines this growing trend of over specialization of skin care, and the company that is bucking that pattern.

You may have seen those companies out there with almost 50 or so products to choose from.  At first it seems like an impressive thing, and it gives the appearance of a legitimate brand.  The problem however is that when you stop to think about it, you realize that it is little more than an advertising ploy to convince consumers to spend more money than they need to.  For example, some companies have in upwards of 3-5 facial cleansers.  Now, they will tell you that they are for different skin types or one is an anti inflammatory facial cleanser, while the other provides anti oxidant protection.  The reality is that a quality facial cleanser would do both all in one bottle, and would be formulated well enough, that it would automatically work on all skin types.  It seems like the company is more advanced, and that its treatments are more specific, yet all they are doing is creating a series of incomplete facial cleansers.

The flip side of this coin however is the wrinkle cream companies that only have one product.  This is almost worse than the companies with 50 products.  There is no all in one treatment that will provide consumers with everything that they need to treat their skin, effectively at least.  Yet the simplicity approach is also attractive to consumers, but they soon find out exactly what a waste of time these treatments are.  The reality is that you need more than one product to effectively remedy your anti aging symptoms.

There are companies however that are going against the stream out there.  They do not bother with the ridiculous all in one product and are a quality enough organization to have more than one product.  But they are not interested in fooling consumers into thinking that they need 5 facial cleansers, when one quality one will do the job, and do it well.  They provide just the products that you need, and nothing more.  An eye gel to treat your eyes, a neck cream to restore the neck area, wrinkle creams for wrinkles and age defying serums to eliminate discoloration and reduce pore size.  You get the idea.  They give you everything that you need to make simple choices, without sacrificing any of the quality.

This industry is already confusing enough for consumers to sift through all of the brands and companies, people do not need any other confusing information to deal with.  Quality skin care does not mean specified skin care, it simply means quality.  Consumers should not be told that they need more than they actually do.  No one wants to spend more money than they have to, and by purchasing from companies that give you what you need and nothing more, you won't have to.
