The three most damaging factors to the skin around your eyes are pollutants, stress, and sun damage. In light of these, when you are looking for an eye cream to combat the signs of aging, you are going to need to look at not only what the active ingredients can repair for you, but also at how well the eye cream is going to protect you from these factors. When it comes to stress, there isn't much you can do about it. Stress comes from all directions all the time. It's not just negative stress that can affect your eyes either, ever hear of laugh lines? The best thing you can do to combat stress is to get some exercise and eat healthy foods. The best thing you can do to combat how stress shows up around your eyes is to use an eye cream that will combat the signs of aging. Using an eye cream that can reduce the appearance of fine lines and dark circles will help make you look as if stress just rolls right off you.

There also isn't a great deal you can do about pollution; it's everywhere you go. It's in the water we drink and bathe in, it's in the air we breathe and work in. Keeping our skin moisturized is the best thing to counteract the effects of pollution. Using an eye cream that has very good moisturizers in it will keep your skin from "soaking up" all those pollutants in its' quest for more nourishment.

The easiest thing to save your skin from, in particular the sensitive skin around your eyes is sun damage. This is best taken care of through a combination of an eye cream with an SPF 15 or higher and wearing a hat when outdoors. You have to keep the damaging rays of the wonderful, warm sun from harming that delicate tissue if you want to remain younger looking around your eyes.

Having a good quality eye cream that has sunscreen in it will prevent further sun damage. If it's a really good eye cream, not only will it prevent that, but it will also provide a barrier between your skin and pollutants and help combat the signs of stress. They make several versions of this type of eye cream; all you have to do is look for it.
